About Us

History

The company was founded in April 1976 by Mr. Apivat Nandhabiwat and Mom Rajawongse Rasmi Nandhabiwat. At the time, Mr. Apivat was an executive vice president in charge of international banking division at a local bank. The couple gathered close friends to set up the company to engage in insurance advisory and broking business, and appointed local managers to run day-to-day operations.

In 1983, M.R. Rasmi, who had been working in the insurance industry since 1958, took over the management of the company. The business took off and was viewed as one of the top insurance brokers in Thailand at the time.

Since M.R. Rasmi’s passing in 2006, Mr. Reungvit, her eldest son, has assumed the management of the company.

Capital & Shareholders

The company has a fully paid-up capital of 5 million Baht (par 100 Baht). Its shareholders are reputable Thai business families.

Mr. Reungvit Nandhabiwat, Managing Director
Mr. Reungvit has been working in the banking and personal finance industries in Thailand for the past 25 years. His last post before joining Ekawit was the managing director of Ayudhya JF Asset Management Ltd., one of the leading fund management companies in Thailand (now called Krungsri Asset Management Co., Ltd.). He also served as the president of Thai Insurance Brokers Association during 2007-2009 and 2009-2011 terms.
